    ... Salem, then north into the Blue Ridge Mountains. I by-passed Mt. Airy -- think Andy Griffith and Mayberry. There were quite a few crosswinds so that slowed me down. Crossed the Virginia state line around 4:30 and found a campground outside of Wytheville by 5:30. Up here in the mountains my digital antenna doesn't pick up any TV stations or FM radio. Early to bed, I guess. Temperatures were in the mid-80s today here. Summer. Not sure what I am heading into as I drive ...
