... we needed to go. The town of Stuart, on Jeb Stuart Highway. This must be changed, I am so offended. So, we got straightened out doing some ridge running. Beautiful country. Made our way to Meadows of Dan. I have looked at real estate online in this area on and off for the last couple years. Made our way into an area called fancy gap. We are now at the fancy gap KOA. Very beautiful here as ...

Yesterday was a driving day, we set off from Nashville and other than a stop for lunch when we stopped at a park and played football or frisbee we drove for most of the day and went to Virginia. The drive was very pretty, the countryside has started to look more and more like the UK, lots of trees, fields and rolling hills. It has also got much cooler which is great as well. The campsite last night was lovely, had a nice swim and a relax and made ...

Despite our best intentions, we had a slow start to the day. We got up a bit later than planned and took our time getting packed and ready to go. After a quick stop for some breakfast we headed back into the mountains to catch some more waterfalls.
First stop was Looking Glass Falls which was a fairly good waterfall that fell into a very inviting pool at the bottom. Damien was tempted but thought it was a little early for a dip. Next stop was Daniel Ridge falls that was a little off ...

This was the first 'real' camping say. We left the RV's behind and replaced them with trees. This is also the first day that we got to replace the bright city lights with fresh air and breathtaking views... Eeeeek exciting :) We travelled along the Skyline Drive, Shenandoah's National park scenic road and explored the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We made a pit stop and enjoyed a short hike. Returning to the van, sweat-free I may add, I was asked to describe ...

Trek Day No.40 - Wytheville, West Virginia

... years experience so we were surfing on some of the waves at one point. I nearly ended up falling out as well because a massive wave loomed towards us and since I was at the front when the back end when over it my bum left the boat! But I managed to keep my balance and just about stay in. I think this trip was way better than the white water rafting we did in Jackson Hole as it was pretty much rapids the whole way down and they were ...
