I topped up my tank and then had a bowl of chili, all stalling tactics to let it warm up some more. Finally I left the town around 1300h, and rode for about 15 minutes only to find it wasn't quite enough, I stopped at an abandoned garage to put on another shirt, that finally did the trick!

We had talked to this guy who said the roads were quiet bad the way we were going but we decided to keep going anyway. We left before 8am and it was pretty slow going to start because we had to cross over Rodgers Pass which is ...

... and get the flat fixed...then install it and get going. What happened was that there is a wheel nut lock, specific to the car that he used to remove the tire and then forgot to take it off the wheel and in driving away, it rolled off and was gone. We did not discover this until we visited the tire shop and they offered to not only fix the tire but to reinstall it. But they couldn't do that without that wheel lock. So we went home to see if ...
