    ... drive to Idyllwild, CA which is about 40 miles east of here. It is WAY up in the mountains. Hemet is at 1600 feet and Idyllwild is a mile high...that's 5280 feet in case you've forgotten.     ... and her family in Mar Vista and then drove up Pacific Coast Highway to visit Ann and Dave in Pismo Beach.

    When the rain stopped the air had a very clear quality and we drove into LA to the Griffiths Observatory which sits high up above the city. The view over the city was beautiful in the sunshine and there was snow on the distant mountains which gave a spectacular dackdrop.
