Our trip was a success and we accomplished all of our goals. Kaela got real exposure to Beijing and her Chinese heritage. Kite Flying: We plan to get a kite for our daughter. Many people fly kites all over China and it seems like a great diversion when we need to slow down, or when historic sites lose their allure. One wonderful memory from our China trip in 2000 was walking at Tiananmen Square at night and seeing thousands of Chinese socializing and hundreds flying kites in the night breeze.
