... City. After some shopping, we rode towards my friend's friends house in Wheatfield, Indiana for our first overnight. They were so lovely, welcomed us very warmly. ... which was also busy, we had a couple of kind Samaritans allow us to be seated before them. We were very grateful. Then after being seated, there was a brief, but tense disagreement between waitresses about whose table we were at. We were very happy when one waitress finally acquiesced. The service was great and the portion size was impressively accurate for the kids. A great day and evening was had by all.

... I just kept myself on Esther (2.5 year-old) duty the whole time.

While there weren't really any "wow" features of the museum, the kids kept busy the entire time we were there. Even Isaac (14) found exhibits to interact with for almost the entire time. The exhibits and activities contained a nice mix of mental and physical engagement that could draw the kids in like ...

... around St Joseph township and taking the smaller roads home. Bought some Halloween pumpkins for Madge's front steps from Sid's Pumpkin patch. We also stopped at Niles to see an old station which has been used in a number of films including Only the Lonely, Continental Divide and Midnight Run.

Went to dinner at Madge's favourite Chinese restaurant, Mandarin House, where we had a lovely meal of beef Chow Mien, Moo Chu Pork and Szchezwan Chicken with peanuts.

... drive into town and go about their Saturday tasks. At the shop, there was one long wall containing bolts of plain coloured fabrics with every shade within the colours of the rainbow. The Amish women mostly wore very conservatively styled dresses of one solid colour but the colours were not muted. They were bright - green, purple, orange, red, blue. I saw one lady wearing floral but it was a muted Liberty style tone.
