    We definitely slept in a little today after being up late last night. We also didn't really have anything planned because it was supposed to rain all day. It ended up an absolutely beautiful day and didn't rain at all, so we decided to take a drive on Skyline Drive. We got on at Thornton Gap and headed South. GREAT decision!

    ... more fun than we thought and LOVED finding all the pretty gems, especially some 'purple' amethyst ones and a large one! She ended up with quite a bit of gems!

    We were a little tired after all that in the warm sun and went for a late lunch/early dinner about 1/2 hour or more away. After that we took it easy and played a VERY LONG game of Uno in the room until after midnight! ...

    ... ring neck snake was crossing the path!! Small snakes, but beautiful and hard to find - made my day :). There was a few miles of up hill hiking and then a day camp area, with a pavilion.
