          ... gurgles up through grey sediment. But, it was still fairly early in the day (I’m in a different time zone again) so, carried on to Alabaster Caverns State Park.

          ... it is constructed of 38 pony trusses and is nearly a mile long. Imagination had to come into play what the bridge would look like in the fall with all the trees on either side of the bridge clothed in their fall colours. Nevertheless, the trusses themselves were artistic and quite frankly anyway, we didn't have any choice about viewing this bridge - that's where the alignment went!           Back in Oklahoma for a night while we waited for more storms to come along. We checked out Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, it was really beautiful but they were in terrible drought so many of the migratory birds didn't come in this year.           ... is in the army. Gary wasn't very friendly. Dwayne and his wife were there. He is getting ready for knee replacement and has been doing triathlons. His daughter and grandson was there.           ... We play the 'who sang this' game, and she always beats me. She's so cool.

          We've also decided that if we're going to be driving a big truck through Oklahoma, I'm going to need to get a cowboy hat. Nothing too heavy duty, just a nice formal driving hat so that I can tip it to people as they drive by. I don't want people to think I don't belong!
