The drop from Leakey down to Uvalde was straight and easy. And I finally found the anchor and bell of the USS Uvalde along Main Street - all decorated for Christmas. Carl had told me that his father (Beth's uncle) had served on the USS Uvalde, a cargo ship in the Pacific during WW II. No, there is no listing on the memorial of the many crew members that served on it, unfortunately.
