Staying at Martin Lake Resort which is a definite stretch! It is mobile home park not an rv park, with old fifth wheels and campers that people call home. There is a nice lake and a pool. We drove down along the gulf and stopped to take pictures of the carved trees damaged during Katrina. Absolutely beautiful! Had dinner at BBQ joint that had wonderful reviews but we didn't like it as much. However the owner was so friendly it made up for it. Leave tomorrow for ...

We decided to stay an extra day in Biloxi, Mississippi. We went on a 70 minute shrimp boat tour in a 12 foot deep channel. We discovered a lot of stuff we did not know about shrimp. There is no magic calendar for "shrimp" season for the gulf of Mexico. It is pretty much traditionally in May or June depending on the weather. ... to be a big deal here but just some above ground tombs with some strange offerings (wine bottles, beads & other nonsense) around some, don't see the attraction. Then we drove to the 9th district which was worst hit by Katrina, some of the properties are being redeveloped but many are still empty and pretty much uninhabitable.
