We woke up this morning and decided to take it pretty leisurely as our train left at 2pm and we had done pretty much all we wanted to do in Chicago (plus we had our massive bags which we didn't want to lug around too much!) We called families back home as it was a more respectable time than when we normally have a spare few minutes (our evening which is midnight onwards for you guys!). Well anyway, after a two hour flight we arrived in ...

We were happy to find a campsite available here Viking Lake State Park in Iowa which was only 14 miles from the town of Red Oak where my maternal grandmother was born in 1903!
This was a very nice campground but...we made reservations online and there were no full hookup sites available, so we reserved an electric only site. When we arrived we found the site occupied & check out was not until 4 pm!!! This was a first, ...

Losing my nuts

Had a great start to the day. Breakfast with good friends then an outstanding ride along the Missouri River/Illinois River with absolutely perfect weather. Then I lost a nut on my shift linkage. After a quick repair got back on the road and the rain started. Made it to Stanton, IA for the ...
