We left Arata early due to warnings about construction delays on route 299. We had to be in Chico before 4 for the brewery tour at Sierra Nevada.

The route we took (299) was a great road for the bike, but the construction delays were a bit of a downer. I liked several of the small towns we rode through, especially Weaverville.

... Fortunately I am not staying there. I have a package to pick up at the Brattens (trail angel) where i will also spend the night. Arriving there by 2:30pm, I had plenty of time to do laundry and eat at the Caribou Cafe close by. Ultimately, about 10 the hikers arrived here (Chowda, Cat Lady, He-man, Spontaneous, Wallaby, Mermaid, Burning Star, etc. Tomorrow I head out early. I have 20 plus miles tomorrow with 6000 feet of ...

... time in the camper than we like to. But it turned out it was much bigger than I expected and had a whole lot going on. We stayed at the Almond Tree RV Park. It didn’t have a playground, but did have a small pool and the biggest bonus, it was right there in town so we didn’t have to drive far to go places. Thankfully Dean felt better right away so we were able to go out and do some stuff. Our first night out we found a playground in town for Iris to play ...
