We left Cody about mid-morning on Friday driving down through Meeteetse, Worland, Ten Sleep and up over the Bighorns to Buffalo (Durant for the weekend). We arrived shortly after noon and missed the morning autograph session, but in time for the Northern Cheyenne Pow-Wow in Crazy Woman Square, the heart of town. It wasn't a big drive from Deadwood to Buffalo, so we took a detour via Sturgis, famous for its biker rally every August.
In August the entire region would be shoulder to shoulder bikers, but not so this time of year. WE took advantage of the quiet to sneak into the "Full Throttle Saloon" and check it out for a bit before scooting across to Buffalo.
