    ... basic load of souvenirs. Judy Johnson, wife of Longmire author Craig Johnson, insisted I read Spirit of Steamboat a short and outstanding story and I read it in one sitting that afternoon. “Steamboat” is the name of the famous bucking horse on the Wyoming license plate since 1936… and the artwork on the nose of a B-25 Mitchell bomber from WW II. I recommend the book to everyone. More about “Steamboat” later.

    ... ravioli; I had bison and Lori had pear and gorgonzola. It was perfect. As an added bonus, they had live bluegrass there and we stayed and listened for a while. There was about 12 musicians total and they all took turns playing various songs and many played multiple instruments. Very impressive.
    We got back to the cabins (below Lori’s standard) late but got a good night’s sleep. ...

    We had a wonderful time in South Dakota - it was so much better than we expected. But we're looking forward to seeing Yellowstone park which is our next major destination.

    However, on the way we stopped at Devil's Tower National Monument. It's about a 2 1/2 hour journey from the Black Hills and takes us into Wyoming. Suzanne calculated it's the 11th State we've gone into so far on the trip!
