Arriving in Atlanta was a good feeling, knowing that we didn't have too long to wait. Our transfer at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta was only 2 hours, so was very thankful to land at gate E32 and be departing from E14 in the same terminal. Cleaning & repairing teams were unstoppable! But 2 flights, one european and one transatlantic, plus being awake for 25 hours straight got me sleeping through 5 to 6 hours. But not until after a huge burrito! Flight lag? Don't know what that is: still had plenty of time for breakfast and early morning shopping!
... and thus, did not have to contend with any commute traffic. The ride was surprisingly easy and we made good time getting to our campsite just south of Atlanta by dinner time. I wanted to watch the Niner game and the Emmys, so we picked a first class resort again. We left our hotel in Atlanta and headed to the zoo. We have seen enough zoos but the kids were excited to visit this one because there was a baby rhino, gorilla, orangutan and pandas. It was drizzling when we got there and then started pouring. We were patient and got to see the baby gorilla and orangutan. We made it to Memphis as the sun was setting.
... Civil Rights Movement. The slogan "Free but not Equal" makes some sense to them now. The museum itself had a great documentary film and a well laid out timeline of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life.
From the interpretive centre we strolled down Auburn Avenue from Ebenezer Baptist Church to the house where Martin Luther King was born and grew up in. It was an amazing experience walking the two blocks from the church to the house. This is ...

Good train system to move between terminals.
There aren't many food places open after midnight, and in general, shopping options could be more diverse as well.
