    Goodbye noisy polluted amazing New York, here I am, in a lovely town not far from Hudson where my Amtrak train arrived. My friend Phil came to pick me up, I will stay 4 nights with him and his family.

    So nice a place to live. lots of land, to Belgian standards, the house surrounded by lawns, a little pond in the corner, trees and a little wood and even a little brook!

    The house is beautiful, and a sign indicates the given name: "Linker Oever", ...

    Just before leaving Mechanicville we got an email from Lock One Marina that they had still not received our filters.... at least we now knew we would be at our anchorage at a good hour! We left just after 8 am to tackle the last two locks in the Champlain Canal and the Federal Lock at Troy. We did still stop at Lock One Marina for diesel, and he filled us up so quickly we were even still able to make it through Lock 1 with the other sailboat Callipyge we had been traveling ...

    ... running plant in the US, but this once industrial city is now a quiet residential one. We arrived at the end of a holiday weekend and there was no activity at all. We did get stopped by a nice man who asked us if we needed help finding anything ( he guessed correctly we were off a boat!) and he ended up driving us to the Price Chopper for food.
