After a great week, it was time to pack up and leave. We put everything in the car and packed up the tent, knowing we would be staying in the covered wagon again tonight at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Homestead. (Best. Idea. Ever).The drive was uneventful - it rained a lot, but not as heavily on the drive over. We reached the homestead, and unpacked our stuff again into the wagon.

... under the door and the rest was totally dry. Nice engineering!

I didn't have my contacts in, so everything was totally blurry, which added to the surreal feeling of the whole thing. I watched the storm out the window for a while, and then laid back down to try to sleep. Fortunately, I had brought earplugs with me (I always do while traveling), and with those in, I was able to block out the sound of the rain on the wagon roof and go back to sleep.

Although it sounded really hokey (Wiley Park Story Book Land) it was actually a pretty good place. The campground is in the middle of a huge park with a man made lake, various attractions like a small zoo, Land of Oz and of course Story Book Land.
