... the cafe in Davenport, a Route 66 oldie, only to then Have their family up and leave for their own reasons leaving them to continue with their business. Problem is, no-one in the town wanted outsiders in the town so they have no friends. They were a lovely couple too, running their business from 7.00 in the morning to 9.00 pm. ... from the hotel, all of a sudden was a big sign saying that the road was closed and the bridge ahead was out. There was a detour to OK-81N. Great, the Garmin wasn't sure what to do with all this, so we followed the detour signs to see where they would take us. Finally they turned onto OK-51, and the Garmin seemed to know what to do from there. We lost about an hour travel time, but we were early for the hotel anyway.

More stops. More wind energy generator's as far as the eye could see. The weather was mostly cloudy but tolerable.
We made it to just outside Oklahoma City to the small town of Yukon, OK (home of Garth Brooks) by dusk, did some laundry, had a great hamburger at a local chain, and called it a day.
