We went over to Durand's house saw he and Greg's family and ate the best cake (it was Durand's birthday) Caramel frosted yellow cake with a caramel center. Caramel is the way of life here. And pie, bourbon balls, jam cakes, hot brown, salmon croquettes, yamellow, all these names of delicious things I haven't gotten to try but my mouth is watering as they go on and ...

Surprised the kids when they got home from school and have enjoyed several evenings by the fire pit. I did a slow motion video one night and didn't think about the sounds being slow motion too. Pretty halloweeny sounding Dalene and I went to Indy for an overnight to be there when her Dad had his hip replacement surgery. Surgery went well and he will ...

... and behold, their Sunday special was a Kentucky Hot Brown. Windy Corner was everything it was cracked up to be. A corner grocery style building and layout in the middle of horse country. It was bordered on every side by farms. They serve local food when possible and proudly proclaimed that their salad fixin’s come from .02 miles away. Andrea’s Hot Brown was impeccable. A yummy marriage of brioche, turkey, ham, bacon, tomatoes, ...
