... br> It's always a bittersweet feeling to come to the end of our travels. Once again, we've been so lucky to meet the people we've met and see the sights we've seen. ... we visited the Nicollete Mall, which is a street mall located downtown. In front of Macy's is a statue that pays tribute to the Mary Tyler Moore show. The statue features Mary tossing her hat into the air just like the start of the tv show. The show was based on a tv news station in Minneapolis. ... Falls and hydroelectric power in the area. The park was created by Xcel Energy as a condition of its license renewal for the Hennepin Island plant. From there we walked across the Stone Arch Bridge and along the downtown side of the river.
