... and I stopped at the Frist Center for Visual Arts and saw an exhibit on Animation (Sam had seen it when we left him on broadway so he just walked around downtown some more). About an hour later we decided to head out to Louisville. After every city we stayed at, Nashville had a big enough impact on me that I told the boys that it was one of the few places I could see myself living later in life. Far from the little dust bowl of our imaginations, Nashville is quite a clean, respectable little city with friendly people and diligent parking attendants. Nightlife is focused around 'broadway', a street lined with 'honky tonk' bars and drunk bachelorettes. The music at dinner made up for the cheesy interior (for me anyway - Rich isn't as much as a fan of country music as I am). The bars we went to after we're much better although packed ...
... Elvis and Johnny Cash came to record after they outgrew Sun Studios in Memphis, and where Dolly Parton recorded “I Will Always Love You”. A little Dolly trivia – when she was on her way in to a recording session in 1967, she crashed her car into the wall of the studio, and you can still see the marks on the wall there now!
