... of the famous gardens of Suzhou. A number of interesting buildings surrounding a large pond. The names given to the buildings in various places are interesting - the Beauty Within Reach Tower, The Five Peaks Library (named after the rock formation displayed near it), The Moon Comes With The Breeze Pavilion and so on. ... don't buy a green Chinese cap (with the red star) - it basically means your wife is having an affair! Doesn't stop them being sold to the tourists! It was an hour and a half drive then to our hotel in Suzhou. It was located down a narrow, crowded (aren't they all) street with lots of shops selling jade. It took a little while settling in - discovering breakfast wasn't to be supplied (a few phone calls should hopefully sort it out) - and then Greg and David ...

... Su Laoshi for teaching me bus stop! Mike relieved to find me safely with the bus but heartbroken that the ice cold Diet Coke he had managed to procure for me from the cafe I couldn't find had succumbed to the 36 degree heat. Have asked Mike not to lose me again! Government silk factor interesting but not as good as the rickshaw ride through the old streets. Mike a bit wary and feeling guilty ...

... called it an early night and went back to the hostel to pack up our things for our train journey the next day. Our next stop was Shangqiu, the city where I’m living in China. Here I will end part one of the story of our China trip, and I will continue the journey in my next post! Cheers :)

... so many chemicals into her arm? There just didn’t seem to be very much information coming back to us. Even when we asked our Chinese friends to find out, there was very little they could report back to us.
