In the middle of hot July my youngest daughter and I took a little vacation on her time off between jobs. I love being in Maine during the summer months, and prefer to travel to warm places when it's cold here, but the chance to travel again with her was too wonderful to pass up so, after much decision making and consideration, we made plans to go to New Orleans, and then on to Puerto Rico. We had wanted to go to Guatemala together, but there is ...

I fucking love this city so much. It's a blast.

... our first beers. This was around 130 in the afternoon. We ended up playing games of water polo in the pool, meeting lots of other travellers including Australians, getting ultra ****** and having a good ole time. It is so good meeting new people, hearing about their travels and just getting out there and enjoying the environment you're in at the time.

Next stop, Florida to meet up with my two Army buddies who both married American Military men and now both live in Tampa Florida. Who would have thought? Perhaps we can make it three of us icing in ...

One night Ryan came home with one of the girls staying in the same hostel as us after they went into some strangers house and got their faces painted???

Went to a restaurant called the Irish House to have a meal and see Ryan's cousin whom he hadn't met before. Had the best food ever!!! Ginger whiskey prawn salad was amazing!!

... Those are divine. The day was finished up with a little retail therapy along the Market, where we found some fantastic black and white photographs of the area, my favorite being the weeping angel which is stunning.
I must say, when we got back to the camper we were all exhausted. No swimming tonight for us. We all just crashed....it was probably the first night we went to bed at a decent hour and slept like the dead. Must have been all those cemeteries :)
