... and myself had decided not to take part in the tour due to it's cost so we had the pleasure of sitting outside in the baking sun for 2 hours because Clara (our tour guide) refused to leave is with the keys to the van. We spend our two hours discussing what we thought of the trip and then just general gossip about various locations as all three of us had been travelling before trek America. When the others returned we set about eating lunch before getting back ...

... can't remember word for word, but basically asked for everyone to come together & accept that there is only one race & that is the human race. Very fitting for the area which again is very segregated. Had dinner at a bar recommended to us by a local called Coop's. ... drove around for hours trying to find somewhere to park and sleep. We ended up in a multi story car park to a very posh Santa Monica shopping centre. $14 max rate for the day - cheaper than anything else round here, and always a pleasure to stay in the car :)

Walked Venice Beach in the morning and then got on the road south towards San Diego. Horrible traffic again, but got to see a beautiful sunset on the way. Every cloud has a silver lining!

... beverage and a fine cajun dinner. It was evening and time for a stroll down Bourbon Street. It's like a 7 block playground for adults!! And the sights........near naked men on balconies, ladies of the night, men dressed like ladies of the night, you name it, if it's strange and odd - you'll see it.

Ended the evening again at Cafe Du Monde and back to camp. Another great day!

Laissez les Bon temps roulee! New Orleans was tons of fun, my favourite place so far! When we arrived we instantly went exploring as our hotel was just off French quarter. The hotel by the way was soooo beautiful, we had a fountain outside our room and it opened into the courtyard in the centre of the hotel that had the pool! We explored a bit of bourbon street by day which was already starting to get heated up ready for the ...
