    ... Big Bopper. The inspiration for Don Mclean's "American Pie". As you drive down a gravel road you spot the large Buddy Holly style glasses.


    About a 10 minute walk through the field leads to the actual crash site where a memorial now exists.

    It sure feels nice hopping out of bed rather than rolling off my mat onto the tent floor! I did talk to a couple that was taking photos of a tent draped over the guy...I assumed they experienced the exact same tent laying over them as I.
