Researching camping spots in Nebraska, I stumbled upon Indian Cave State Park, self-tagged "Nebraska's Best Kept Secret". Hey, I like caves and secrets (and secret caves) - sold!

Never ask anyone in Nebraska to keep a secret.

I had wonderful visions of camping alongside the Missouri River bluff practically alone. The park has 135 RV sites which were at 100% capacity on a Thursday in October. The non-reservable 140 tent ...

I guess this day kinda overlaps with the last entry but oh well. We took off at 3am, stopped at 5am and realized how uncomfortable we were hahaha luckily the gas station had a photo op so we let off some steam there. It had just gotten dark when I rode into St. Joseph. I was pretty tired from battling the wind all day and was very happy to see a dairy queen. Tomorrow I will shoot for Chillicothe which is about 75 miles from St. Joseph. Today was difficult but I made it 69 ...

So we left the very nice Super 8 in Lincoln, IL around 9 am. Finally a warm morning. No rain gear or heated gear today. It went up to 20 degrees for most of the day, but I found it a bit chilly on the highway at times because it was a cloudy all day. Lincoln is near route 66, which we would like to ride, but the road is very bad in spots and takes a lot longer to ride. We rode through the remainder of the state of Illinois, going through another Springfield (I think ...
