... on our route. We built in a couple of times where we didn't move the boat. This gave us a full day to explore at a relaxed pace. It was well worth it. We didn't make a lot of progress the first few days, but learning to pilot a 45 foot flat-bottomed boat and how to operate locks takes time. I managed to cut back clothing to get everything into one suitcase to avoid the checked baggage fee. I thought I was successful until I realized I didn't get any of the gifts, toiletries, or shoes in yet. :|

When I checked in I realized I get TWO free bags. =) I guess that means I have the second case to fill with toiletries and more importantly. . ..SHOES!!
