... We then dropped Lynn off home to ice her back and then Linda and I went to Target to pay a bill. While we were in Target a huge storm front blew in and there was flash flooding, thunder and lightening. Getting from the garage to the back door we were totally drowned! If you read my blog about hiking across Isle Royale last year, you'll be surprised to learn I am doing it again. This time alone. I'm taking a different route this time, straight across the island on the Greenstone Ridge trail, which is not nearly as arduous as last year's trek. But to make it harder, after I reach the far side of the island, I'll meet up with Julie, and we'll hike five more days together.

Doing the long hike alone means I get to keep my own pace, pay attention ...
