We all managed to sleep really well and feel fine so we set off to Fisherman's Wharf. It's beautifully sunny but with a very fresh wind off the bay. One item on the shopping list was to buy a replacement for Nia's "Cali-for-Nia" top which we brought with is but she's grown out of. Luckily we found a shop that would print one for her as it was difficult to find the design she wanted that highlighted NIA. ...

... We couldn't decide where to go or what to eat. Eventually we decided on a totally new route home to catch a bit more of the town. Halfway through we changed or mind and route and caught a bus to see the Painted Ladies row of houses. They were ok but the view from the hill they were on was worth the stop. We start off well by missing the sail under the Golden Gate Bridge but it was very misty when we did look out so we probably wouldn't have seen anything! We ...

... bearings. After we finished the tour we got off at Fishermans wharf (should have got off 2 stops earlier which would have been closer to our hotel, but we wanted to complete the loop. We finished at about 5:00 pm - just in time for peak hour traffic, great. We jumped into a cab with an ex-army major from Pakistan. When we first got in he was rambling on about his hate for America and the city of San Francisco - especially how expensive it is, how terrible the roads system is, ...

... rode two abreast across, and back again, while the girls took the shots.

The ride to the Eagle Rider dealership was interesting. You will be familiar with views of San Francisco's steep hills and cable cars (and thus their tracks) from the many films and TV Series made in this city. Those hills really are steep, and it was quite something to ride them, keeping within the three feet gap between parked cars and the cable ...
