... of Eastern Ohio with its small, compressed towns and poor small holdings. Our destination was the town of East Liverpool and we found it in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. We found its broken streets and empty shops, its faded past and lost future. It seemed like a town of lost dreams and there seemed to be nothing of value there for travellers like us. And yet, we had come to that place in search of a lost treasure. A story worth the search. All we had to do was find it.

Afterwards we wandered through Oakland and UPitts campus, and found ourselves in an old favorite gastropub by the name of Fuel and Fuddle, where we were met by our old friend from the fund Jacob and his girlfriend Kim, both of whom still work for the organization, but who happened to be out of town (north of Pittsburgh!) when we contacted them from DC. When we made plans to meet up I didn't even realize it was Jacobs ...
... part of the Lincoln Highway which goes all the way from San Francisco to New York City. Parts of the route we took was also along the route that the Confederates took to get to that fateful battle in Gettysburg. That night the Country Music Awards was on tv...and lol! Some of the songs we recognised as we'd heard them on the radio. Our plans to do a segway tour on Thursday was stymied by the weather....rain. So, no images of me face ...

Today, I did rote moving tasks - - mailed the EZ Pass back, dropped off the cable box, threw out old stuff from under the kitchen sink. Moving overseas is not all glamorous.
And so I'm left in my nearly-empty, dark apartment (lamps sold) contemplating life and suitcase weight-to-volume ratios. Six more days . . ...

The service people were very helpful and took us right in. They changed 3 hoses and the fuel filter and we were on our way back to pick up the camper.
We arrived at the Gisselbeck's about 2000. They wanted us to park in the driveway and it was a bit difficult. Jim took out the neighbor's mailbox. When Loren came home, we went to dinner.
