... Dexter cafe. The lady owner appraised us, and when asked for directions to the restroom said "... and don't pee in the sink." An inauspicious introduction you will agree, but lunch was good, and as we swapped yarns she told us how her husband had died of cancer in May, and how running the cafe had kept her going through the grieving process. Her account painted a picture of small town America suffering from the farming crisis, and ...

... past the arch - quite a view. Despite it being hot and bumpy as we made our way to the arch and back, Alex seemed to be tolerating it just fine. I honestly believe he is building up a tolerance to the turbulence.

After we landed, I noticed an F-15 sitting on a pillar to one side of the airport. Turns out that the southeastern corner of the airport is the Boeing radar test range, and the F-15 is a test article that can be rotated to ...

... I've heard of another Nebraska Republican who has served in politics for as long as Marv has. He has now put in SIXTY years as a GOP volunteer. Isn't that incredible? He started off with the late Sen. Carl Curtis in 1954 and has served a number of Republican leaders since then. Isn't it great to know about someone who has stayed that active and engaged into his 90s?

Hats off to you, Marv, and know that I deeply appreciate your support and friendship!

    ... makes you feel good.

It was very nice of Marv to team up with Gail and Mike Dwyer and Patty and Scott Meister to host a campaign event for me at the Fremont Golf Club. We surprised Marv with a big birthday cake, which he loved. We later learned that he shared the extra pieces with local people who are caregivers for those with Alzheimer's Disease. That made us even more proud of him, always thinking of others!

    Thanks, all!!!

... once or twice or more, to help my campaign.

Some people are hosting phone bank nights at our campaign office and arranging for their "14's" to come in shifts. One is hosting a "stuffing party" for a big mailing that's coming up.

This particular supporter decided to have a "Red, White and Chocolate" luncheon for her group, and ...
