... old family home, very authentically refurbished, and have just had a superb meal in a family run cafe/restaurant just across the road. After sharing a pitcher of Margarita, the girls needed help to unlatch the gate on our return to the B&B, so that's two of us who will sleep well tonight! I'm not joking, but that reminds me ...
Do you remember that I left the tale of the Australian poetry competition unfinished? If you are not ...
... right past the arch - quite a view. Despite it being hot and bumpy as we made our way to the arch and back, Alex seemed to be enjoying himself. I honestly believe he is building up a tolerance to the turbulence.

... I've heard of another Nebraska Republican who has served in politics for as long as Marv has. He has now put in SIXTY years as a GOP volunteer. Isn't that incredible? He started off with the late Sen. Carl Curtis in 1954 and has served a number of Republican leaders since then. Isn't it great to know about someone who has stayed that active and engaged into his 90s?
Hats off to you, Marv, and know that I deeply appreciate your support and friendship!
... makes you feel good.
It was very nice of Marv to team up with Gail and Mike Dwyer and Patty and Scott Meister to host a campaign event for me at the Fremont Golf Club. We surprised Marv with a big birthday cake, which he loved. We later learned that he shared the extra pieces with local people who are caregivers for those with Alzheimer's Disease. That made us even more proud of him, always thinking of others!
... Had an excellent interview with the Fremont Tribune and another one with KHUB.
Last, but not least, we stopped by Hy-Vee for coffee with my good friend Marv Welsteadt and a group who had many good questions about the many important issues facing our country.
It was a great day!
