I don't know why we're so excited....check back with us in a few hours when we're STILL in Texas! We stopped on the line to gas up. We threw on our old cowboy boots and our hats and walked around the TA for a bit. We tried really hard to look like it was just another day. :-) Back to singing along at the top of our lungs to all our old country songs! PS. So far, everything seems to be the same size as it is in ...

Leaving @ 8 am, headed for somewhere west of Dallas! Made it to Longview tx!! Uneventful day, great weather, sunny skies!! Drove over the mighty Mississippi! Thankfully, they will be settling down in El Paso, Tx tonight and will be giving me a call. Hopefully I won't miss it this time!

We left Jackson MS Thursday morning continuing on I 20. We stopped at Vicksburg MS to visit Vicksburg National Memorial Park and found it very interesting and informative. Driving through the grounds gives you a good idea of why those battles took so long and resulted in 20,000+ deaths. We continued on into Louisiana and had a wonderful lunch at Cotton in ...

Merry Christmas from Louisiana! We started the day by taking a boat tour through a swamp. Because it is winter, all of the alligators are hibernating. But we did see raccoons, vultures, egrets, and great blue herons! The swamp was very neat with the Cyprus trees and other swamp plants. Our guide was a true 'cajun hillbilly' so we got to experience a bit more of the culture ...
