I don't know why we're so excited....check back with us in a few hours when we're STILL in Texas! We stopped on the line to gas up. We threw on our old cowboy boots and our hats and walked around the TA for a bit. We tried really hard to look like it was just another day. :-) Back to singing along at the top of our lungs to all our old country songs! PS. Leaving @ 8 am, headed for somewhere west of Dallas! Made it to Longview tx!! Uneventful day, great weather, sunny skies!! Drove over the mighty Mississippi! Found a nice little campground, pool for the kids, trails for the dogs. Great overnight spot! Didn't get as far as we hoped, 1200 more miles to Grand ...

Up until this point, Scott has yet to drive. So, finally in the morning his trainer is giving him the go ahead to get behind the wheel in order to move his first haul for a pick up at Tyson Foods. Let's hope for the best!

Merry Christmas from Louisiana! We started the day by taking a boat tour through a swamp. Because it is winter, all of the alligators are hibernating. But we did see raccoons, vultures, egrets, and great blue herons! The swamp was very neat with the Cyprus trees and other swamp plants. Our guide was a true 'cajun hillbilly' so we got to experience a bit more of the culture ...
