Stayed at Terry Lane's overnight. WHAT A HOUSE!! Just amazing! Nice old house with the highest ceilings I have ever seen and history of its own. Chatting with Terry was like seeing an old friend again even tho I barely knew her before I met her. ...

We had a short journey today of 45 miles to permit the group to visit Mammoth Caves. Some of us just enjoyed a slow ride through the country in fine weather and used the day to rest for the three longer days to follow. Mammoth Caves for a not so mammoth price

Stopped at Mammoth Cave National Park on our way out of Kentucky. Its the largest cave system in the world and so amazing. Our tour was 2 hours long and only cost us $12 a piece. Some places were so tight you had to squat to get through and others were so wide open it was like being in a cathedral.

Author's note: Sorry the pictures are so fuzzy. There was very little light (naturally) and so the photos came out blurry.

After Asheville the drive took me through the Great Smoky Mountains, which actually looked pretty great from where I was sitting. I was surprised there were no scenic overviews or pullovers to enjoy the view. The weather was great, though, and the green mountains against the blue sky and ...
