There are various homes and communities on the island that offer beachfront, bay front, or lagoon front condos and what we loved was that all the homes are different. No cookie cutter development here. From anywhere on the island, you are never more than a short walk to the beach or the intra-coastal waterway.

If you are looking for night life and crowed beaches, this is not the place.

The main house is huge. The master bedroom and bathroom is as big as Mom's whole apartment I think. The nicest part of the house is a deck across the front that is screened in. When you sit there you feel like you are outside, but are protected from bugs, etc. Across the road is the gulf and it is ...

      Port Charlotte 2011

A travel blog entry by tammyl on Mar 11, 2011

Port Charlotte was just across the bridge from our hotel in Punta Gorda, so we drove there on our last day as a nice way to end off our trip. The beach was like in any harbour with murky water, but it was a nice change from the hotel pool. The water was pretty ...

Boca Grande is a beautiful beach area. We drove there from Punta Gorda which was kind of a long drive, but so worth it. The beach had white sands and beautiful turquoise waters, although there were shark warning signs everywhere. It was a nice change from the murky harbour and it was my first tropical beach experience, which was very ...
