... it reminds me of Los Angeles. Definitely a mix between the two! The people aren't as crazy here but there are still some looneys for sure! I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory which was actually pretty good! Had the veggie burger with fries... Oh fries tasted so good! I haven't had them for weeks and it was so nice to have them again! I then walked down Michigan Avenue and looked at the shops and yes, bought some clothes! I visited the Water Tower Place ...

... tomorrow. So, finally we got to Greg's friend Scott's apartment in Lincoln Park. It's a cute little apartment for him and his roommate Morgan. They're both going to school to be dentists. ... The duck crepe and beet salad both got high marks while I had a Puriste which they kindly made me with Spinach instead of ham. There was a party of twelve dining at the same time. They clearly met there regularly to speak a little French and enjoy a nice meal. The space was cosy and had a distinctly "I've been transported to montmartre" vibe.

Tuesday's lunch was with a different group of friends at Piccolo ...

An uneventful flight from London - just the way we like them. We used the new immigration machines to check ourselves through which was quick and effective. The baggage claim less so but eventually everything arrived and we shot through customs. Off to lunch or whatever meal one has at three in the afternoon (linner? dunch?) as we knew no one would be awake for supper. Carlucci's in Downer's Grove near the airport was fantastic a usual. Eggplant Parm and walnut ...
