Then a simple sandwich lunch before getting back in thr canoe - this time for a 3 hr trip that included a lengthy portage. ... the pelting rain. There was a sudden flash of lightening and that was it for us - we tried to run and promptly splashed through a puddle that was at least an inch deep. Our clothes weren't dry by Friday! That was an experience. So much for summer!
