My first stop today was the Ohio Capitol in Columbus. It's a Greek Revival, symmetrical building with a central cylindrical tower. The cylindrical tower looks rather odd. Most of the original designs, and there were several, featured a dome on top of the cylinder but the finished building wound up without one.

... we reached Charleston WV and we were able to do a little sightseeing in the downtown area. We were surprised at the small size of this state capitol. The river area had a nice farmers market and we were also surprised at the size of the New River and the amount of barge traffic.
