... snack lunch at Najah's Desert Oasis. Thankfully, no kicks there either!
Well, we've been through the desert ..., and we're now in Barstow. Craig did go for a swim at our hotel here, even though the hotel warns that the cleaning materials for the pool cause cancer!
Sorry, no blog tomorrow, as we will be without internet access on the Rankin Ranch in California (sorry, Mary-Ann), so we will update you on Tuesday.

... lunch and then headed up into the coast ranges to the east. The climb gave us one last look at the ocean and then sent us up into golden hills covered with vineyards and oaks. At El Paso de Robles we ran into fair related traffic. A detour and we were off to the east again, ascending the mountains at 4000 feet before dropping into the fruit growing Central Valley, which was NOT its usual 100 degrees. ... because so far nothing worth taking a picture of except the river border the Colorado but I was not fast enough getting the camera out.

We rode into Oatman. It felt like you had just ridden into a cowboy town and there was going to be a gunfight at any time. The were signs up asking you not to feed the Burro's on the verandah of the town. We took a number of photos and headed onto Needles. We then rode onto more "Easy Rider" movie locations as we climbed the Sacred mountains.
Riding through the Mojave was enjoyable ...
