... a Level Nine VIP tour of the Space Center to see the behind-the-scenes parts of NASA that the general public never sees. We're going to see the places where the astronauts train in zero gravity and a Saturn missile and Mission Control where they actually fly the International Space Station. Cory is very excited as he's always loved anything to do with space. We'll post a review of our tour and the pics later.

... sand castles. I snapped a photo of this older couple walking down the beach with their adult son, hand in hand just living in the moment. The water there was crystal clear and the sand was very fine and filled with many varieties of sea shells. We stayed as late as we could watching the sunset directly ahead of us dropping behind the clouds at water level. Just gorgeous! We vowed to return there and stay for a few days during our next Florida visit ...

... the local craft guild, the hot shop workshop for folks working with glass, and the Chihouly glass collection. Had lunch at the Greek taverna - some of the best Greek food I've had in a long time. Regrettably, they were out of Retsina - few, other than me, would see that as an issue.... The Chihouly collection was great, amazing fantasy pieces ...

... about some of the birds, reptiles and other animals. Those enclosures helped to make the park feel a bit dated. Also the majority of customers seemed pretty dated themselves, and the first roller coaster we went on was out of the dark ages - impressive wooden structure but genuinely scary to be hurtling along in a wheelbarrow on steroids. ... than just lying on the beach.

Most everything revolves around the beach...fishing, drinking, watching for dolphins and manatees, and shelling. We saw dolphins our very first day at Englewood Beach. We are still on the lookout for manatees out front in Lemon Bay.

Many people have all kinds of fancy contraptions for finding their favourite shells and teeth. Apparently it is the same on Sanibel and Captiva, which we will get ...
