I changed ready for the meeting and then drove into Los Banos with about two hours to spare, so I got onto the net at McDonalds there and caught up with e-mails etc.
When I got to the hall locality, which I remembered the Garmin GPS mistakenly located as several blocks away last year, I found the new Garmin was just as wrong! Nevertheless, I was there well over half an hour before the meeting and I was surprised to see a bunch ...

As we reached the Mariposa grove the snow really started to fall, not puffy flakes but solid marbles of snow which covered the ground very quickly. ... getting an early start in an effort to try to get a jump on all the large caravans. We've made reservations at the more popular stops along the way but are also planning on 'winging it' quite a bit! We are prepared for all types of weather but we are really hoping we don't have to pull out our snow gear!! It should be a great three months and I promise to keep you posted on all of our adventures and discoveries. Honest!!
... motel. After settling in to our room, we headed over to Pea Soup Andersen's for dinner, the high point if the day. Julie had tuna salad and I had liver & onions, one if their specials of the day. Of course, we hit the gift shop afterwards. The weather was much better today, making the drive much more pleasant than yesterday. ... br> We all had a great time on the beach, particularly Lucy and Daniel. They are really missing not having a chance to play. We wandered down the beach before chilling out in the sand, while they played in the ocean and in the sand. It was lovely to see so many dogs on the beach with their owners. Apparently, Carmel folk love their dogs......and their owners don't let their dogs poop on the beach!
