    ... and got into the car. Equipped with ham sandwiches, apples and bananas - we had no need to stop, so headed straight to Uncle Roger's and Aunt Carol's.     ... log cabin in the forest. So peaceful. The smell of the trees and the sounds of crickets and tree frogs (I never realized that it was tree frogs) was just so relaxing. Carol and Roger built the house themselves by hand and even removed the bark off the trees themselves. It reminds me of my friend Andrew's cabin in Norway. I loved the vegetable patch - so many vegetables, herbs and lots of other things. I kept sniffing ...

    ... and determination! He finished in 4:20:55 and seventh in his age division.....not bad when you consider this was his first ever marathon AND it was a trail run. He chose it because of the setting; for nature and the reflective time alone in the woods. Whether or not he got to do any reflection we don't know. But I do know he finished and we are so very proud of him!
