Some of the original furniture is still on display. They built things to last in those days.

Another section of the building contained a museum and what I would call a trophy room. Strange things you would not expect to find in a public government building. There was even a two headed cow.

Our plan is to drive as far as we could, on the fastest highways and find a nice cosy roadside inn with a fine dining restaurant that is FAOGCS certified but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Yesterday I noticed twice the usual number of New Yorkers wearing white pants. There were the spectators, in their spotless tight pants-of-conjecture and there were the competitors in their breeches. At least the equestrians had dirt on their pants, and panty lines, so I felt more ...

... State Park in Point Judith in a cool foggy sea mist, perfect sleeping weather. I was in Point Judith once before. Back in the late 1990s my brother owned a boat and invited me to join him for a trip from where it was moored in Norwalk, Connecticut eastward through Long Island sound to Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Block Island. We stopped to fuel up in Point Judith because fuel for his gas-guzzling boat was supposedly cheaper in Rhode Island than in ...
