... surprised by. The water was so green and the current was so fast. We enjoyed stopping at various viewpoints to take pictures and watch the water flowing by.
We then went on to Taupo where Celia was hoping to do a skydive but the weather was really dull and the sky was really gray so it wouldn’t have been worth it. She was quite disappointed but Lee and Lauren were secretly relieved as they had their reservations (there’s still time ...
... got there with huge collumns of steam rising up from them (some of which immediately condenses in the cool air and kind of sprinkles you with rain). They were so impressive and kind of look like something from another world, in huge mounds of minerals formations - with streams trickling out of them and all around. We also went to sit on the "hot seat", literally as they have benches which are heated from the action below ...
Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand jimandnatAfter a heavy night it was a bit of a challenge forcing ourselves out of bed to get up to catch the next bus. I've had to quickly learn to get used to the late nights and early mornings otherwise I'm not going to survive the trip! As per usual we were greeted by our chirpy driver, Josh, and fellow passengers so our hangovers were quickly forgotten about. To help break the journey down we stopped off at a ...

Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand traventure83... sounds pretty cool. I would have been more impressed with rainbow puppies that taste like candy, but you take what you can get, no? so then I was off and missed my bus, but it wasn't that much so I was alright with that and we went to Rotorua, which is the smelliest place I think I have ever been where there are literally gysers everywhere. I am up to here in natural gysers! So we saw a few go off and that was kinda cool. But really ...
Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand redmonster10/29/08 This morning I got up around 9:30 and Andy woke up shortly after I did. We left the hostel around 10am after thanking Amanda one more time for giving us the great deal on the room. After eating a quick breakfast, by 10:30 we were back on the road again. Our first destination for the day was Kerosene Creek in Rotorua. I was in Rotarua about a week before this but never to Kerosene Creek. The story of Kerosene Creek goes like this: Last time Andy and ...
Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand gorkel... I really need a full nights sleep and tomorrow I hope to relax for the day before heading to Taupo on Thursday. Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand nadinekarl... no wind, so no strands getting caught up), and with a steady supply of food being blown inside, with no way out.
After the boat made its way slowly out of the cave we climbed out into the light, and walked back to the car park.
Leaving the caves is the only chance you get to take a photo, but it's not very impressive, sorry!
