... saw an array of fish and coral, from there we went kayaking in clear bottom kayak to a sandy white beach with a long dock that had a giant deck built up 15-20ft above the water. Thank goodness I had my wheaties that morning and got up the courage to jumped off!! ... anywhere - they come back in the Spring. We were kind of put off - many bars and restaurants are closed, we were once again hit on by panhandlers. But Austin has a real vibe. Young professional, good-looking people, lots of new construction, beautiful recreation areas. We went down for dinner, expecting a meager Monday night crowd, but the downtown was packed - some show going on. Ate Mexican, enjoyed the beautiful weather on the patio. Great night.

Our swim was refreshing! Baton Springs is very much like the Pemeberton town pool. It is a man made pool set in the river. So while the river water temperature does not change, you find it cool due to your body temp being so hot from the weather outside! This temperature inside the springs was a year round stable of 68 deg Fahrenheit! Those working in Celsius, trust me that's very cool and refreshing!
