Today was 106 mile day which was flatter so easier cycling. Again overcast, wore arm warmers in the morning as temp was 68.

Main scenery is now corn fields. Lots. Sadly as the corn has grown so high you can't see over the top so the views are always limited.

Mostly uneventful day. Springfield is a large city and was the ...

First up was a visit to President Abraham Lincoln's Tomb. I made sure to take a photo of Bern reading signs since he is teased by those who know him about how he has to read them wherever he goes. Good thing that I enjoy it too :)

Then we headed to Lincoln's home in downtown Springfield. When we found out the next tour was more than an hour's wait we agreed to just watch the movie about Lincoln's life prior to his becoming president ...

There was a church across the road from the skatepark that was blasting out opera and orchestra music, it was like a mosque but not half as cool. The call to prayer ...

... the route are quite far apart. We back-tracked a couple times and finally gave up...we picked a GPS point down the road a few miles and drove to it with the hope that it was less cut up. In the end, we had to get out of the City to really pick up the road. I had down-loaded an application that was to allow our GPS to guide us turn ...

Well, here we are in Springfield, IL - the Home of Lincoln. Unfortunately, Lincoln only operates his Library Monday thru Friday and that was pretty much the purpose of this visit...there is a lot to see here in regards to Lincoln, so maybe when we go into Springfield tomorrow, we can get our fill. We didn't get ourselves all hooked up until about 3:30, so it wouldn't be worth trying to rush into Springfield for only an hour or so. I ...
