... did not jive. I finely got us out of there and got onto Old Route 66. Some times it was hard to follow. We had to stop and put water in Dave P radiator for it over heated. I gave up trying to follow Route 66 and got us onto 55 which brought us right into Springfield IL to the Route 66 Hotel Conference Center for the night. Dave P's friend Steve Eckman flow down to St Louis rented car and met up with us at the hotel. We all went to dinner at the SGT. Pepper's Cafe. Then back ...

We are leaving tomorrow for our great adventure west on the Lewis & Clark Trail. We're not sure how long we will be gone, planning for 3 months. It's our first trip without a deadline, so meandering is the way we're going. We have a general plan in mind, but are free to take side trips if we want. Somehow in my travels around the Midwest around 2002 when I lived in Chicago for a job for a year and in my road travels back and forth across the country ...

Day 2 from St Louise to Springfield. Some 320 miles all the way Weather in the 90's and clear blue ski. Perfect vision, but very hot for riding conditions We had a fab time in St Louis. A place of wonders and beauty. The Arch is magnificent. We had a fab Mexican dinner in the evening and pleasantly surprised how safe we felt St Louis is so clean and loved. How come we've not been here sooner? We visited the ...

Ya, ya, ya...side by side (ugh)...just kidding...

So, today since we are just travelling from one point to the other, I digress in my photo journal as you will soon see.

I have taken to "VIRTUAL BIKE RIDING"! I've decided that since I'm not allowed to take my eyes off the road for fear of missing a street sign that I MUST read to the "captain" he didn't say anything about ...
