... the time, and it was actually 7:15 am.

A cup of coffee and a beautiful walk in the woods set me right. Addie made a new friend, Sunny, and I had a very pleasant chat with Sunny's person. She was doing a brisk power walk, so I got some good exercise in addition to a lively discussion about health care, education and big data. You meet the most interesting people walking the dog.

... Pics 11, 12). Vanderbilt was top of the heap and this mansion has been called many things down the years as you can imagine. Anything that looked gold, is! Even platinum was used. Poor man only enjoyed it for one summer before dying of stroke. In the car park I took pictures of number plates (tags). I got 27 different states. I liked this one. Pic 13. Lovely sail in to Newport this am. This is a city I really want to come back to and stay for a few days. So much to see and do! We went for a walk along the famous "Cliff Walk" a public pathway right along the ocean that is open to all and goes right in front of all the famous mansions. We ended our walk with a tour of the Vanderbilt's home, the Breakers. Great audio tour so you could go at your own pace. Reminded me of Downton ...

... been that bad! Our hearts sank as we were escorted to our table for dinner as the only other couple on the table appeared to be a rather large old woman and her son and we couldn't imagine any lively conversation. Another ancient couple joined us and our spirits sank even lower. Fortunately we were saved as a lively couple of Scousers, who looked to be our age, joined at our end of the table and we did, in fact, have a good evening. The theatre was barely ...
