    ... hill. We started back on our journey. Around noon, we came across a picnic spot by the Arkansas river so we stopped their for lunch. The kids had a dip in the water and the dogs got a little exercise too. A few hours drive later we arrived in La Junta KOA. The park is not as nice as all the rest of the parks we have visited.     ... results in heavy downpour in some areas and sunshine in others. I took a few pictures from the car, and they give you a pretty good idea of how dramatic the skies are.

    The hotel in LaJunta seems to be having a personality problem. It was America's Best Value Inns and Suites when Tim booked it, but it has since been converted into "Travelodge by Wyndham." The change didn't solve all the problems ...

    ... onto La Junta, CO....It was nice weather not to hot but very windy all day....had some road construction but that didn't bother us too much. There were lots of herds of cattle in these different yards hundreds of them and the smell wasn't the best. Maybe thats why we were biking so fast at times.
