As a closing note, you also might be surprised to know that we don’t use Matt’s wheel chair much at all. Bathroom runs at gas stations and the hotel stops are great opportunities for Matt to walk and get some exercise. People in general are very kind and helpful and it lends a smidgen of credibility to the smirks we get when presenting Ricky the official emotional aide dog at the front desk.

Fortunately, everything was on time for our flight home today. We took a taxi to Charles De Gaulle and departed right around 12:30pm. Our 8.5 hour flight to Washington, DC was fairly smooth (except for a little turbulence upon our descent). In fact Jo's room is about twice the size of hers at home, with a massive walk in robe, her own desk, a private vanity basin and semi-ensuite to the main bathroom.
