One a trip organized by the Mount Holyoke Outing club, I climbed my first hike ever! Day one we climbed Owls peak, approximately a 4 hours hike. Day 2, we climbed Mt. Phelps (the 36th/46th highest peaks in the Adirondacks) took almost 8-9 hours. It was certainly worth the view at the top, more so at Owls Peak due to the foliage. Crown Point was across the lake from our dock, a distance of about ½ mile. The Lake Trout fishing was excellent as I remember. Dad would go out every morning early and also in the evening. Even though they do have a hunting season up here it seems that most of the property is privately owned and they discourage hunting.
Their are lots of spots around that would be suitable for fly fishing for trout but we only saw a few people fishing. I imagine it would be rather cold standing in the middle of the river in your ...
