One a trip organized by the Mount Holyoke Outing club, I climbed my first hike ever! Day one we climbed Owls peak, approximately a 4 hours hike. Day 2, we climbed Mt. Phelps (the 36th/46th highest peaks in the Adirondacks) took almost 8-9 hours. It was certainly worth the view at the top, more so at Owls Peak due to the foliage. Although, Mount Phelps truly felt like an accomplishment with it being such an excruciating and long hike. ...

... fun, but I want to stop in towns and meet people and take pictures. I don't care what my bike looks like. It's just my transportation. ... I scoured the countryside for strange men with shotguns on mowers but there were none to be found.
Even though they do have a hunting season up here it seems that most of the property is privately owned and they discourage hunting.
