    We had planned to reach the town of Bangor (Maine) for the night, but after talking to an (American) woman during breakfast at the bnb decided to drop down to Belfast on the coast, because of the better scenery down there. Going through customs was relatively easy, considering how hard they make it sometimes. The drive was good and during a stop for gas & washroom, we joked about the 16 foot Canadian canoe stuck in the back of a pick-up truck. ...

    ... Fort Point, an old fort and lighthouse - a beautiful park and views. Then we were off to Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge which includes an observatory.. We spend about an hour and half touring the fort and going up in the tower of the bridge. What a great view from the the tower. Then we were off to Bar Harbor and checked out this beautiful vacation spot. The place was packed with people as a cruise ship was in port. We think this would be a ...
