Then we went to what they call the whirlpool. Its where two lots of water came together and they created a whirlpool. There was also a chairlift but we didn’t go on that…besides Geoff would have no hope of getting me up there. It was started many years ago by two Spanish men who charged people $2 each to cross. Yes it was a lot of money but it was a scam as the men were telling people that they would smuggle them out of Canada ...

The roar of the water and the views plus the incredible mist from the falls all added ...

We followed the lake shoreline north all the way up to the Canadian border where we were grilled by customs.

"Hi, oh you're British, enjoy your stay"

The border town of Sault Step Marie is really nothing to write home about. A dilapidated industrial town full of grey and KFC. We passed through and hooked up to the Trans Canadian Highway skirting along the northern shore of Lake Huron. We drove as long as we felt we could ...

... money, but the locals actually will exchange items and services for these portraits if the old queen.

We continued east into the heart of southern Ontario. It is filled with vegetable and grain farms and dairies. Cities like Leamington boast that they produce Heinz ketchup or Hormel chili, etc. Most of the countryside along the 401 lacks the gaudiness if an American interstate. Occasionally there is an "On Route" oasis of services, but mostly it is grass ...
