      We have heard so much about Cape Cod we decided to check it out even though it was somewhat out of our way. Cape Cod is a peninsular extending 60 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, its a long drive to the Cape Cod National Seashores Park, but we're so glad we came.

      ... the Natick churches were gay friendly, with a female reverend. What a perfect little town! We used the afternoon to slowly drive down to Cape Cod. Once again we avoided highways and enjoyed the drive through all the little towns. New England has so much history that every town seems to have so much spirit and soul to it that the drives are really fun. We stopped in a town called Sandwich, right at the entrance to Cape Cod.       ... highway. We stopped off at a visitors' centre to take advantage of a short film show and to pick up a map/guide. We fancied a couple of the trails along the coast. A short beach walk allowed us to be terribly British - trouser legs rolled up, handkerchiefs knotted and we paddled in the North Atlantic.       ... yuk) of what the ship came to mean for the intrepid sailors. We made a brief stop to see the "Plymouth Rock" where supposedly the Mayflower tied up on its arrival. The truth is the stone has been changed and moved repeatedly and has little genuine significance now, not that that stopped our colonial friends from taking oodles of pictures of a rock with 1620 stamped on it.
