Woke up to clear blue skies and temperature rising through the 70's. Key West is not a large town so very walkable which is what we chose to do.

On leaving the hotel the first thing we saw was a hen walking along the pavement followed closely by her baby chicks, how strange. During the course of the day we saw many other hens in gardens …

Last night was much quieter on Ocean Drive than Sunday so much so that the restaurant we went to were offering 25% off food. We accepted this kind offer and when offered small, medium or large cocktails opted for medium - photo attached - America has a different take on the word medium!

... didn't want to go overboard with our activities. Seriously. People were throwing up overboard into the ocean! The ride was very memorable, even if it was in a bad way. At land, we were told that the normal wind speed at sea was around 10-12 knots and on the day we went it was around 21 knots. No wonder our boat rocked!! This Great Glassbottom tour was a very nice boat, and the experience would have been amazing, if it weren't for the part about the whole boat throwing up.

    We made it!

... down to Mallory Square for the sunset celebration it had stopped. Sadly the cat circus was't performing last night but we saw a couple of performers and then set out to explore everything that Duval street has to offer. We had an awesome dinner at Caroline's cafe and then stopped for some drinks at Hogs Breath Saloon and the Green Parrot. It was a fun end to an amazing trip. Now for the epic return journey! On to ...

... photos. The next item on the agenda was the Conch Republic parade. The main street was closed off at around 8.20pm. The parade was kind of cool. Lots of pomp and ceremony. I saw some of the oldest cheerleaders and marching girls I have ever seen. There were some neat cars too -Mustangs, Hot Rods and even a Monster Truck. The folks in the parade were tossing out beads and lollies. The bead thing seems to be big in the Southern States of American. After the parade I decided to ...
