Good location, nice kitchenette, great swimming pool fed by a hot spring (although it doesn't look much, is very nice).

... had a long way to go at a very slow pace.

Our second day we hike Golden Canyon. We discovered the
canyon on our last trip into Death Valley but didn’t get to hike it at the
right time of day which happens to be the heat of the day where the sun is
shining right on the canyon walls. It was 85 when we decided to hike this
canyon, it was hot but the colors were beautiful. Very much worth it.

Chris and Steph pulled in just as the ducks wandered off, and we enjoyed an afternoon caffeine break.  I really like the new Starbucks Flat White, by the way! ...

We signed up for the $13 gourmet 3-course spaghetti dinner served by the fancy-dancy Symphony Restaurant and enjoyed it very much (but boy, was there ever a lot of food!). Mom played in a poker tourney at the casino, and another one in the trailer park, and she and I got in on a '31' game one evening. We also played a fair amount ...

... and we were amazed to hear of all the uses for boron! Luckily, the mines are so vast and deep, the Boron site can produce the mineral for years to come! So far no fear of the famous 20-Mule Team Borax becoming extinct!

We had heard of the nudist Tecopa Hot Springs and, curiosity well-piqued, off we went! The campground was rather "unusual", on a dry, flat salt-bed, but ...

... Valley where the lowest point along the highway is 190 ft below sea level. 101deg at the Visitor Centre but dry, with a light, hot breeze. Arrived after dark in Mammoth Lakes, one of the biggest ski fields in USA. We're overnighting here in a two bedroom, two bath Westin suite. We were told bears are often seen outside the apartments, but we didn't see any. We were surprised to see a small flock of bighorn sheep beside the ...
